2017 Reading Things.

Happy Saturday and welcome back to my blog! Today, I want to do the End of the Year Reading Survey and just talk about some books I really enjoyed this year! This will not be the same as my Favorite Books of 2017, but rather more of a reflection on my reading year. 2017 was an incredible reading year for me and I can’t wait to talk about it!

1. How many books did you read in 2017?

I read 216 books!

2. Did you meet your reading goal?

Yes, my reading goal was 200 books!

3. Favorite 2017 release?

I have to go with A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas. I know there are problems with this book, and problems with Sarah J. Maas in general, but she has become my favorite author and this is my favorite series. This was a no-brainer.

4. Favorite book you read not published in 2017?

To choose anything other than A Court of Mist & Fury by Sarah J. Maas would simply be a lie. This is not only my favorite book I read in 2017, but my favorite book of all time.

5. A book that lived up to the hype?

The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh! Every book I loved this year that was a popular book tended to be a polarizing book, this being no exception, but I loved it SO much.

6. A book that did not live up to the hype?

I hate to say it, but I did not love The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. I’m intrigued enough to keep reading, but I found this one a bit dull and way too dense for my reading taste.

7. Favorite & least favorite character?

Favorite: Rhysand, or really the entire inner circle from ACOTAR

Least favorite: Mal from The Grisha Trilogy, for ruining the series.

8. Best written book?

Definitely Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor. Laini Taylor’s writing is absolutely stunning and just takes my breath away.

9. A book that made you cry the most?

Easily Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K Rowling. I only read the first three books this year, but PoA broke my heart and made me fall in love with the series!

10. Book that made you laugh the most?

Wallbanger by Alice Clayton is the easiest answer. This book genuinely made me laugh out loud so many times, and even made me tear up because of how incredibly happy the entire thing made me!

Thank you for reading! I’ll post my favorite books of the year tomorrow!
